2 Sherlock Rise, Carramar WA 6031, Australia
Sherlock Rise Christmas Lights was originally setup by Ruth and Stuart Galt in 2013 at No.2 Sherlock Rise with a fairly basic lights display that was made a little different from the rest by the addition of a 3.5m home-made Christmas tree made from a recycled outdoor table and telegraph pole from Tamala Park dump, which cost all of $10 in parts! This is the same tree that is the centrepiece of our display every year.
The tree was a big hit and led us to add more and more home-made parts making Sherlock Rise Lights a unique display experience. The display took on a completely new dimension in 2016 when we introduced interactive characters from the Disney film Frozen and, of course, the big man himself - Santa. This is when it stopped being a display and started being an event. This is what makes Sherlock Rise Lights so unique and why people keep returning night after night and staying for the whole evening - it's interactive, fun and the time just disappears! The event is community-run by volunteers and raises funds for charity by collecting gold coin donations from those that come to see us (the donations are completely optional and at your own discretion). This year we are working on more new 'attractions' and it's becoming more of a mini-theme park.
We really hope you like the experience of coming to visit us and that it helps ensure that you have wonderful Christmas in 2019 and a fantastic new year.
