As the year comes to a close, it’s been a special time for our decorators to share the joy of their Christmas lights across WA.

Thank you to everyone who has decorated, voted and supported Lifeline WA and many other incredible causes as part of our 2021 Synergy Xmas Lights Trail.

We’re thrilled to announce the winning decorators of this year’s competition.

Snow wonder they’re the People’s Choice winners…

Mary and Alan Kartesz-Wardroper in Meadow Springs have won the People’s Choice Award. Here are some festive facts about their spectacular decorations:

•  Their display features hundreds of lights and festive displays both outside and inside their home, with 400 Christmas trees – and took over 1,200 hours to set up.
• With hundreds of competitors again this year, Mary and Alan’s display received more than 800 votes to take out the top prize.
• Mary said they decorate their home for the kids’ enjoyment and to raise money for a good cause, fundraising for K9 Rescue Group, who help dogs, like Peri and Roxy, the Kartesz-Wardroper’s adored pooches, find their forever homes. 

“Christmas is the most special time of the year and we believe it is the ideal time to give and to share. It gives us so much pleasure bringing smiles to all faces from young to old. The laughter and feedback we get from our visitors more than compensates for the time and effort put into the display,” Mary said.

The Synergy Xmas Lights Trail will keep shining online until 1 January 2022, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy the lights over the Christmas period (although please remember that some decorators might choose to pack away their lights before then).
